Are Any Brothers Available For Lunch With A Visiting Brother From Seattle On 8 June 2018?

Brethren,

We have been contacted via the Manoah Lodge No. 141 Facebook page by Bro. Glenn Butler, the Senior Warden of Lodge Alba 315, in Seattle, Washington.

Bro. Butler will be in Tofino for a family wedding on 8-9 June 2018 and he wants to know whether any Brothers would like to get together for lunch with him in Tofino on 8 June 2018.

Bro. Glenn Butler can be contacted on Facebook.

Please let the Lodge Secretary know whether you are available on that day. Perhaps we can make this an informal Manoah Lodge event.

Manoah Lodge No. 141 Regular Meeting – 10 March 2018

The Regular Meeting of Manoah Lodge No. 141 for March 2018 will be held on Saturday, March 10th, at 1:00 PM. All Visiting Brethren are very welcome to attend.

It is the occasion of our Election of Officers as well a meeting of the Tofino Masonic Temple Association. We are looking forward to Bro. Myles Morrison proving up in the Fellow Craft Degree.

As well, VWB Morris Soer will present a Petition for Initiation.

On a sad note, two of our eldest Brethren have recently passed: WB David Bond at the age of 90, and Bro. George Gudbranson at the age of 100. Bro. Bond’s widow, Yvonne, let me know today that there would be a remembrance for him at the Legion in Tofino at 1:00 PM on March 24th. No service has yet been announced for Bro. Gudbranson

You will all be pleased to know that the construction work on the Kennedy Lake Hill (the Rock Wall) which was scheduled to begin on March 1st has now been postponed until the bidding process has been satisfactorily completed and until a review has been done of the proposed schedule of closures of Highway 4. This is expected to take a few weeks.

A Visit From Ontario Brethren – February 2018

Dear Brethren,

We recently received a communication from WB Davidson Tate, WM of Ionic Lodge No. 25 in Ontario, saying that he would like to meet with as many of the Brethren of Manoah Lodge who were available on Saturday, February 10th.  WB Tate is the Cousin of Bro. Sandy McRuer of Barclay Lodge  No. 90.

Accordingly, RWB Sandy Henry, VWB Morris Soer, Bro. Myles Morrison and RWB John McIntosh arranged to meet with WB Tate for lunch at Gary’s Kitchen, in our Lodge building.   And, happily, we were joined by WB Michael Barlett of Corona Lodge No. 454 in Burks Falls Ontario, who has recently moved to the West Coast, where he is building a house in Ucluelet.  Although Bro. George Smith was unable to leave the helm at the Tofino Pharmacy, we were able to visit with him at his store after going up to the Lodge room for a tour and photo opportunity (see attached). WB Michael Barlett is looking forward to joining Manoah Lodge.  It was a warm and enjoyable gathering in the best traditions of our fraternity.

Fraternal best wishes,
